They are very sharp on both edges & facilitate Shaving by cutting hair follicles / whiskers as close to the skin as possible without damaging the skin itself. There are hundreds of different brands of DE ( Double Edge ) Safety Razor Blades and each can be made of different metals and have different coatings with different Sharpness & Shaving properties.

 

There are many people who can get away with Shaving with any type of Safety Razor using any brand of Razor Blades and get perfect Shaves every time - but f you are like most or especially if you have sensitive skin or coarse beard growth you could very well benefit from trying some of the different brands of Safety Razor Blades that are available to make Shaving easier and more efficient.
