SAFETY RAZORS PRODUCT INFORMATION - VSHOD

The first recorded hair Shaving tools were sharpened flints, clam shell edges and sharks teeth. Man made copper and solid gold Shaving tools have been found in ancient Egyptian tombs dating about 4000 BCE. A "Razor" is a sharp edged cutting implement for cutting or Shaving hair. The man who invented Razor Blades was KING C GILLETTE - Double Edge ( DE ) Safety Razors / T Razors or TBAR Razors are likely the most widely used Shaving Razors. To use one for Shaving you first insert any DE ( Double Edge ) Razor Blade which are very sharp on both edges & they facilitate Shaving by cutting hair follicles / whiskers as close to the skin as possible without damaging the skin itself. There are hundreds of different brands of DE ( Double Edge ) Safety Razors and Safety Razor Blades, each with different Sharpness & Shaving properties.

There are many people who can get away with Shaving with any type of Safety Razor using any brand of Razor Blades and get perfect Shaves every time - But to most, finding / using a Safety Razor design that most suites their skin type and hair coarseness is important and will make the Shaving of hair easier and more efficient. Some Razors work better when using a particular brand of Razor Blade and not Shave as well with other brands. You also dont have to spend a lot on a Razor to get great Shaves if you dont want to as there are plenty of cheap high quality Razors that Shave just as well and sometimes better than expensive brands. 1. OPEN COMB RAZORS - Open Comb Safety Razors are very efficient Shaving Razors and give extremely close Shaves. The Razor Blade edges are completely exposed to the skin so these type of Razors must be handled more carefully when Shaving. They are extremely efficient at cutting long / coarse or dense hair with ease. Very good Shaving technique is a must and they are generally recommended for more experienced Shavers but if careful even beginners can Shave with them easily.

2. SAFETY BAR ( CLOSED COMB ) RAZOR - Shaving Razors that have a Safety Bar across the front of the exposed Razor Blade edges make them a great Razor for beginners as while Shaving you can rest the Safety Bar against your skin minimizing the contact with the Razor Blades sharp edges. They are still extremely efficient and should be used with care but there is much less chance of nicking yourself Shaving while using this type of Razor.

3. SLANT RAZOR - These Shaving Razors have a Razor Head that is slightly twisted by design to precisely torque your Replacement Razor Blades to present a slanted ( slightly twisted ) cutting edge to your whiskers which is far more efficient than standard Safety Razors, they more often have a Safety Bar across the front of the exposed Razor Blade edges but with a greater Razor Blade exposure ( + the twisted head design ) which gives them a different cutting angle which effectively cuts hair much easier and closer than standard Razors. If you are starting off with this type of Razor you will have to develop good technique when Shaving as the Slant Razors are quite efficient / aggressive.

4. ONE SIDE OPEN COMB + ONE SIDE SAFETY BAR RAZOR - This type of Shaving Razor have a DUAL Razor Head that has a Safety Bar across the front of one side and an open comb on the opposite side. These are very popular in Europe we have some really good quality, inexpensive Russian made Safety Razors available online that utilize this DUAL head design which are made and used especially for the Medical

/ Hospital

field for preparing / Shaving patients before any kind of procedure. Many Shavers enjoy having a 2 in 1 Razor and use one side to Shave with the grain and the opposite side to Shave against the grain making this type extremely versatile.

5. DUAL RAZOR BLADE SAFETY RAZOR - All other Safety Razors made only require that you insert x1 DE Razor Blade ( and can only take one Double Edge Razor Blade at a time ) - but with Dual Razor Blade Safety Razors it is your choice to insert x1 DE Razor Blade to Shave with or you can insert x2 DE Razor Blades at the same time making this type of Razor more efficient when Shaving because each stroke of the Razor will be similiar to 2 strokes on any other Razor. This type of Razor does work much better for some people and they are worth a try.

6. ADJUSTABLE SAFETY RAZOR - This type of Razor is the most easy to use and versatile type of Safety Razor and they are Perfect for beginners and experienced Shavers. Most Safety Razors have a solidly fixed head and are set at a certain Blade Gap which cannot be changed so some shavers have 2 or even 3 different model Safety Razors with different Blade Gaps to Shave with when the facial hair is longer or when Shaving against the grain of the face hairs. The Adjustable Safety Razor is great because all you have to do is turn the dial on the Razor Handle and it changes the Blade Gap which effectively changes the agressiveness on the fly - Lower Settings being the most Mild ( which is great for those with sensitive skin and everyday Shavers ) up to Higher Settings, being the most aggressive / efficient settings ( which are perfect for the coarsest beard growth & those who like a super smooth Shave everytime )

SAFETY RAZOR MAINTANENCE AND CARE

Most Safety Razors will last decades by following the maintanence tips below.

1. Remove the Razor Blade & rinse the Safety Razor thoroughly with tap water after each and every use & towel dry to get rid of moisture which can cause corrosion.

2. After your Shave you can spray the Razor with 100% pure alcohol before using a hair dryer which disperses moisture and facilitates evaporation even more.

3. At least once a month completely disassemble the Razor and clean all parts ( handle , head , baseplates ) individually with warm water and a mild soap and let it dry.

4. At least once a month, after a thorough Razor clean, use a light mineral oil ( like Singers Sewing Machine Oil or Wahl Hair Clipper Oil ) and coat the Safety Razor Head and Baseplates with a thin coat of oil using a cotton ear bud and then re-assemble.

When not in use store the Safety Razor in a dry environment.
