PRODUCT DESCRIPTION   PROFESSIONAL BARBER - MEDIUM LOFT BOAR HAIR SHAVE BRUSH.   Black & Red Resin Handle. Made in Italy.     Boar Hair ( Bristle ) Shaving Brushes have been the favourite choice of Master Barbers in Italy and other parts of Europe for decades because of their specific and superior qualities when face or bowl Lathering. After a short breaking in period, good quality Boar Hair Shaving Brushes Bristle tips become just as soft as premium badger hair yet the bristles have more backbone or firmness which is a quality of Boar Hair.   Boar Hair bristles have more strength and provide more backbone than Badger Hair Shave Brushes and by shortening the boar hairs length this Brush has even more backbone or hair strength and is easier to control without having to use your fingers on the Knot in tight spots. These Shave Brushes work perfectly from the first use but Boar Hair Brush bristles start splitting at the ends and become softer after about 15-30 uses yet still retaining a firmer feel on the face when lathering. Boar Bristle Shave Brushes are an excellent choice as they easily make quick work of lathering from even the hardest Shave Soaps. The ability to make foam is their strong point.  Due to the size they open very well ( splay ) on the face and distribute unexpected amounts of foam. As for the quality of the bristle, the tuft is robust but it does not bite and is still gentle on the skin.  As almost all animal brushes they begin to express the best of themselves after a couple of weeks of use.   Most Boar Hair Shave Brushes may have a slight odour the first few uses ( which will disappear ) and require you to soak the Brush Fibres in warm water before each use for at least 5 minutes. This can be done by half filling a Shaving Mug or coffee cup with warm ( Not Hot ) water and placing the Shave Brush in Fibres First.

Properly wash any type of Shaving Brush in hot water and detergent, then dry thoroughly after each and every client. If you do not have a Shave Brush drying console at your premises you will need spare Shaving Brushes to continue your practice safely for your clients, and in adherance to Australian Health and Safety Law.

ABOUT BOAR HAIR SHAVING BRUSHES

Boar Hair or Just " BRISTLE " Shaving Brushes have stronger hairs than Badger Hairs which gives them more " Backbone " or hair stiffness and a much greater feel on the face when lathering.

Having stronger hairs means they more effectively / quickly create lather from hard Shaving Soaps.

After between 10-30 uses the tips of each of the hairs start splitting making the Brush tips as soft / luxurious as a Badger Brush while maintaining the stronger bristle strength creating to many a much more preferred feel when lathering.

Boar Hair Brushes when new can have a slight smell to them when they are wet for the first few uses but the smell soon disappears - NOTE : Many are received without any odour too.

Boar Hair Shave Brushes work perfectly from new but will get softer after about 20-40 Shaves so do not judge their quality until you have used them quite a bit.

Boar Hair Shave Brushes 'might' lose a few hairs each use for the first month - if your brush continues to shed hairs after a month enquire about a replacement Brush.

Boar Hair Brushes also require that you soak the hair tips in WARM ( not hot ) water for about 10 minutes before each use to soften the Boar hairs - this is important and if you do not pre soak them the hairs will start breaking off. Boar Hair Brush Bristles also absorb & hold a great deal of water ( high water retention ) in the fibres when pre-soaking them before a Shave, which makes the lather stay very warm as you apply it to your face = Great Face Feel !

Make sure you properly dry your Brush after each use by first thoroughly rinsing out the Brush with cold or warm tap water ( not hot ), gently shaking out excess water, gently squeezing the Brush Knot with a dry towel ( without pulling on the Knot or hairs ) and then leaving out in the open to dry - some people hang the Brushes upside down to dry but we have found this is not necessary. Any Boar Hair Shave Brush can take between 1.5 and 2 days to ' completely ' dry out after each Shave. The smaller the Shave Brush Knot the quicker it can dry.

You can clean them once a month by gently washing them with shampoo and repeating the steps to dry the Brush.
